We’re getting ready to roll out a new TVNZ+ platform from mid to late April. It’s a behind‑the‑scenes upgrade that sets us up for a better streaming experience, and it comes with a couple of changes we want to give you a heads‑up about.
A new way to sign in
We’re moving to one‑time sign‑in codes instead of passwords.
What that means:
- When you sign in, we’ll email you a secure code
- Enter the code on screen and you’re good to go
- No passwords to remember or reset
The first time you log in on each device, you’ll need access to the email address linked to your TVNZ+ account.
You can check or update your email anytime in your Account Settings from a desktop or mobile browser. If you no longer have access to the email on your account, you may not be able to sign in once the new platform launches. In that case, the easiest fix is to create a new TVNZ+ account using an email address you can access.
A quick policy refresh
Alongside the platform update, we’ve refreshed our Privacy Policy to reflect new technologies, products and services, and updates to the Privacy Act 2020. It covers what information we collect, how we use it, and when we share it. The new policy will apply from 3 April 2026 and you can read it here.
Our House Rules have changed too, to reflect the new platform, new products, and to make sure our Rules are clear and protect content on our sites. You can find the updated Rules here.
If you need a hand at any point, our Help & FAQs team has you covered.
Thanks for watching,
